I'm pretty sure F3 ANG claimed she used mild steel wire and mild steel tube, and got the job done no problem. Correct me if I'm wrong because this is the approach I'm going for.

Just had a word with Ray, and if you can get stainless wire great, but you can, and there's nothing wrong with using mild steel wire just paint the weld with vht paint, all the hangers on the S are mild steel, Ray repairs at least 4 after market system's a month where the stainless hangers have snapped or the stainless weld has broken, he repairs them with mild steel brackets and wire and non of the repairs have broken or corroded away, it may not look as nice but it does a perfectly good job.

Hi we did use mild steel pipe on mine but it was 3mm wall as this was all i had to hand in 22mm id, all others have being done with stainless pipe but welded on with mild steel wire which as said is not a problem. just not as neat.

Any idea how much they are charging for this mod to the exhaust?
Did they mention if they could do more than one at once?

He seemed fairly accommodating when I told him about the garage up north and whether he'd be able to do the same southerners, so yeh I guess.

He's doing mine today/tomorrow and after that he'll know exactly how much the job is. I've left mine with him as at the moment i'm running a very lightweight single (9kg compared to 25kg stock), which i'll be looking to move on once i've gone back to this one.

I do like my single (people certainly move out the way when I put my foot down), but then I love the look of a twin too.

If you dont mind what it looks like, there is a product called JB Weld, and it claims it can fix scratches in cylinder walls and fixes exhaust leaks and what not. I used it on my 92' Civic hatch on the exhaust and it worked great, and this was right around the area of the cat so the temperatures were much higher than around the mufflers. It smelled at first, but once it heated up real good it never smelled again and kind of baked it self on there. If you can fabricate a piece of exhaust tube to fit nicely you could definitely JB Weld it on there. Not recommending you start glueing your S2000 together like some of the Civics around here, but it is a suggestion.
