I believe the std cat is very efficient (as is the exhaust), and removal of the cat would require ECU adjustment - or summut like that

does not really make it louder as such....just slight change to the note, especially during gearchange., I quite like the sound, my only negative on CAT removal is the exhaust smell. I was really surprised how bad it was...because I guess that is how cars used to smell...but it is a long time since I had a car without a CAT.

edit...

and as blurter mentions...Honda ECU will give CEL without a CAT.
