I was a bit lazy and just used wheel cleaning stuff as I already had it out, mine didn't look like they'd ever been cleaned and it brought them up reasonably well.

I've got some autosol to finish the job at some point.

+1 for Autosol...I've been using it for years...even on motorbikes

here's mine after using autosol on a rag to do the tips and autosol and a green scouring pad to remove the paint on the backbox came out pretty well

Tis a lovely smell to, proper old fashioned, and truly British, its the sort of product that's makes one come over all Fred, as in Dibnah.

Although my nephew has been CNC machining what are in effect giant rose joint of late and been lapping in the parts with Brasso
