I ran a CRX with no exhaust for around 10 miles, it was a nightmare, engine would continually stall, this was only to move the car when I moved house.

I think its a "high-flow cat" that's fitted as OEM anyway so removing it may not give you much of a difference in sound but possible hassle come MOT time.

This is our cat's internals:

which looks a lot like the internals of a high flow cat.

Either which way, I am replacing mine with a test pipe soon - green be dammed. I hope to get a little more noise because my neighbors have some really loud exhausts that sound like fart cans and it is time i did something about that. I'll work my way up

The stock cat is similar to the High flow cat from Berk apart from the Berk HFC is a lot coarser matrix and so more open and the biggest difference is that the OEM has two elements and the Berk has a single element.

Has this done today and would recommend it.

Doesn't sound overly different but the car was quite loud with the FIPK anyway. By removing the centre box it's merely raised the sound somewhat but not by too much.

Also when letting off after giving it the beans, tends to make a rasping sound which, to be honest, not sure if I'm fond of yet. I'm sure it'll grow on me though
