Default exhaust

I have recently brought an AP1 with a standard exhaust just wondering which is the best after-market exhaust to get, or wondered if any one had fitted a cherry bomb to the standard exhaust? and how did it sound?

Thanks Dave

David there is a plethora of threads on exhausts /gaspodemodeoff

You need to tell us/think..

How much do you want to spend?
Do you want it loud?
Do want the best sounding subtle exhaust?
Do you want the most performance or just the sound or bit of both.

For power gains a single generally. For a dual you cant really go wrong with a mugen but its expensive. But generally you wont really get much power out of exhausts on the F20C.

All i'll say is TBH this is a 4pot and generally sounds shit unless your in vtec, so personally i wouldnt want exacerbate the sound too much . And also dont take too much notice of the offical exhaust thread on the yank side, the power figures are much exaggerated IMO/IME.

I have a 5zigen singlepipe exhaust, that weighs around 10KG's, is Jasma certified so under 96db but adds power too - pretty much what i wanted, if a 'little' on the loud side.

I got a blueflame exhaust because its a bit sportier than stock, but nothing ridiculous.

Also, you BOUGHT an AP1, not BROUGHT.

Oh...and it's exhaust

Everyone in the UK has an AP1 too. AP2 refers to the 2.2 litre engine the Yanks got. We just have the facelift model, and refer to each model by saying MY(99-09) as there are other differences too, which can be found in the FAQ, stickied near the top of the main page

The 'facelift model' is the significant bit here as there were changes to the back bumper. Generally an AP1 exhaust will fit and look OK on a pre 04 car and the AP2 for the post 04 car .... however I have a pre facelift (01) model and have had a couple of 'AP2' exhausts on it. One of them did melt the bumper a little but that is not the sort of thing I ever care about.
