Default European breakdown cover

Morning all.

Seems that once an S2000 reaches vintage status of 11 years old it becomes an unreliable wreck in the eyes of European breakdown cover companies!

Heading off on our euro jaunt on Saturday and where as I've enjoyed 14 day cover for around £20 for the last few years it seems it's now going to cost me the thick end of £80 for the same thing!

Does anyone know any decent temporary cover companies that'll do a better price than that? I'm not with the AA or RAC, but when I was I remember their European cover quotes were extortionate!

Thanks all.

Dan

Depending on who you have insured it with, that may be an option worth exploring? Although my S is not that old, Classicline have always covered me for Euro travel - whether i need it or not.. Not that I've got much further than Bournemouth in it.

Mine's 13 years old and Adrian Flux gave me annual's European Breakdown Cover (including mods) for £70, worth a shot.

See this thread https://www.s2ki.com/...reakdown-cover/

I've just bought additional cover from my existing provider (Greenflag) for my 14 year old car.

Try your insurance company. As I can add it on at any time I don't have to have 12 months break down insurance making it alot cheaper.

Under £30 notes, vehicles up to 16 years old too, so most S2s will be safe for a bit!
