Forget about speeding in France. As we have a house in France - Dordogne region - i often drive on French roads. They're out to get you in a big way.
Where's your place jml?
I used to live near Brantome.
Nice .. Brantome
Our place is in :
Savignac de Miremont, small village near le Bugue.

.....the Dordogne is the best region on the eye in France by a long way (as well as near Most Blanc)
Near Mont Blanc Have you looked at a map lately?
Why?

As I said on the eye and as you might drive through the HOT Frejus tunnel you go 'near' Mont Blanc and the area around there is quite nice.

Simple. The Dordogne is 350+ miles from Mont Blanc.

The Tour de France is starting at Carcassonne today and will be going up through the Dordogne at some stage.
Give you an idea of the roads / scenery etc

Here's a couple of the ones I've done for inspiration, search out the others and Blurters (both on here) they always have a LOT of detail in them
