Whilst searching for the bulletin that LTB has kindly posted above, I came across some old posts by Brian. He alluded that no.1 plug tends to suffer first when not torqued correctly. Just a coincidence with eho's misfortune?

A new cylinder head at Honda dealer prices (including fitting and all the additional parts such as bolts, gasket, etc) is more expensive than a second hand engine.

I know cos I had one fitted (although I did get the cost covered by warranty in the end).

I had a valve retainer go and the valve bent and got stuck open. There's no visbile damage to the head and I'm sure it could be reused so drop me a line if you want it. It's just sat boxed up in my garage at the moment.

I haven't got round to putting it on e-bay

Oh dear.

You could tell everyone it's a power bulge, I suppose.

Probably not, actually;

There is a definite front-end vibration on the engine (I suspect it's that makes the engine note so tiresome on a long journey) and it also can shake the oil filter off.

Gotta be worth 5hp given the size of the bulge!

I just didn't want to say it without any evidence.

Chris.
