I'm waiting for a Mugen system to come up in the FS section. I feel I could be waiting a while.

I have a noisy exhaust, which made trying to record the noise very difficult lol.

Sounds normal to me. These engines can sound a bit ticky, my last one did. Do a valve clearance check and get the injectors cleaned if you're concerned.

That's all i could manage. I did record driving alongside a wall but my exhaust almost entirely drowns out the ticking on the recording. The videos almost sound like a normal engine but I've never listened to another S2000 engine tbh.

Whats the car age and mileage?

Vid 1) when you revved up it sounded a bit rough. When was your oil last changed?

Vid 2) sounds normal to me. I could hear a slightly tickety tick from 00:03 to 00:09 which just sounded like your pulley doing its job

You could do with posting a video of the engine bay with someone revving it to replicate the sound.

get it looked at and stop losing sleep over it

As above, it sounds perfectly normal.

I have this exact same niggle, at first i put it down to valve clearances or tct. Having adjusted the valves to the tighter end of the clearance window and blasted the guts of my tct i still have this clicking/ticking noise exactly as you've described. It's more annoying than anything but it's my first Honda engine and also having a timing chain i'd expect it to be a little bit noisy, so maybe it's a case of TADTS?!

Still got it in my head that it's the tct, but it's probably fine.

I have exactly the same noise, you described it absolutely perfectly, it's not major but it's been really bugging me! At first I through it was a valve problem, then I thought it was the exhaust blowing somewhere.

Took it into the garage and they said there's nothing wrong with it. They also adjusted my valve clearances (I got them done pretty tight) and since then the noise seems to have become slightly louder, which makes me think it's a valve issue. The frequency at which the 'ticking' occurs though would suggest it's only affecting one valve. Weird.
Same here. Hearing it bounce back when driving alongside a wall or whatever is exactly right.

I've done the TCT fix on mine, but having heard some proper TCT "card in spokes" noises it wasn't that, and adjusted the valve clearances which also for me seemed to make it slightly louder.

Just slightly noisy valves or injectors seems to be the consensus.
This.

Being adjacent to brick retaining walls makes it incredibly loud, for some reason.
