Interesting. Not heard of that happening on any car.
The harness under the car will be for the primary and secondary lambda sensor, the first of which failing will cause the car to hesitate a lot. Only other one is the speed sensor going to the gearbox, and that failing caused a very bad idle on one of my scoobs. ECU didnt know when the car was at rest because the zero was out, but that car had a convertor which was the root cause of that prob...
Jinjer, given that, I suggest you have a peek at your ECU! Doesnt take long to get to it.

Hi guys,
I have spoken with the parts manager from the stealers who has clarified the situation. Apparently, they can start the car and it will run perfectly. They can then get it to consistently misfire by 'wiggling' the wiring loom
The car is currently out of warranty, but I had reported the identical problem on numerous occasions whilst it was in warranty. The garage has therefore put in a 'good faith' warranty claim to HUK.
Fingers crossed.

Good news!
This sounds like a potential "suspensions bushes" issue to me, if more than a few cars have had it.
Where abouts in the loom are they talking about? Is it at the ECU? Get them to check that isnt corroded give Euan's post above. Also ask to witenss it if I were you, just in case!

Well, I got a call from the stealers this morning to say that my car was ready for collection !
The warranty claim was rejected (no surprise there ), so instead they performed bypass surgery on the offending 2 wires and now everything seems sweet
They also didn't charge me for the work - slightly better than the
