Engine stall from warm start-up
I've had my 2002 S2000 for 13 months now and have yet to encounter any issues **touch wood** but the other day I got back in the car after getting petrol, started the car and it stalled... It has done it a few times since. It never does it from cold and doesn't do it when I press the accelerator (like the other cases when the revs will drop off and sometimes stall after a quick press on the pedal). I can stop it stalling by giving it some gas when I start it but I have not had to do this at all since I've owned the car so I dont understand why it has started doing it. Car and engine only have 51,000 miles on them so I'm hoping its nothing too serious. Any thoughts/ideas/suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

I would clean out the throttle body with carb cleaner, if you can remove it so that you can give it a right good clean also remove the map sensor and do the same, when refitting the map sensor make sure the o ring is in good nick and seated properly, if your feeling in the mood also remove the idle control valve and give this a thorough clean as well, if you do remove said items you will lose a small amount of coolant so don't forget to top up and bleed after, then do a ecu reset. we did this to mine after it had a problem with idle drop out, after starting when warm, and sometimes at junctions, i have never had to try and catch the throttle since,

Its most likely the control valve bolted to side of the manifold, it gets gummed up and can't rotate, it's this valve the ECU opens and shuts to control the idle
I got two cleans with 6 months between cleans before it gave up completely
Cost me £60 from the scrap yard and it was fixed for good
