Engine management fault light flashing
I left my car for about a week parked up, and when i tried to start up i found that my engine fault light kept flashing and there was an uneven tickover.
So i decided to phone my dealer he told me to switch off the engine and try and start again . I did this 3 times but still the fault light was flashing, and they told me to call the recovery service to get it towed in.
I decided to wait another 15 mins and try again this time the fault light had cleared. So they advised me it was ok to drive.
My car is a 2002 model which was modified with new spark plugs and oil mod in Dec 2002.
I followed this up with a visit back to the dealer the following day, and there explanation was it appeared that i had some moisture build up in the spark plugs and this caused some form of misfire.
I have only had this happen since the Honda mod
Has anybody else had this happen ?

This happened to me a while ago - I have an '00.
Got back to the car after about 8 hours, started her up and she sounded like a tractor ! - I also switched off the engine and tried again twice & got the same thing. I also called my dealer and also the AA - when the AA chap turned up the car was started and was fine.
I went straight to my dealer who informed me that nothing was wrong with the engine and that it just didn't start properly and all is ok - this was the only time that it has happened to me & I haven't had this problem since.
