semi synthetic is what is recommended for a whole new engine with an additional molydenum additive. that is what honda technical told me after my garage filled it with fully synthetic. i have some additive in my car now if you need a part number.

are you getting a whole new engine or just a short block?

that is a serious result from honda UK. Congratulations. shame it blew up in the first place though.
