Default Engine light has come on!

Driving home from leicester, was about five minutes into my jorney home and a engine symbol lights up on the dash. Is that a CEL as offen refered to on here?

Well anyhow the car seem to drive fine and when i got chance i checked that i still had some oil in. It was still at the top of the XXXX sp np prob there. Not sure if it was me looking for something but the car did seem to drag/slow down more when coming off the gas. All very stange. I even tried the time honored off and on trick to no avail.

Should i still be VTECing? certaining feels ok beyond 7K. must get booked in tomorrow. More$$$

Just limp the car into your favourite Honda garage.

As long as it's not flashing I wouldn't worry too much. Sometimes you can just get a blip. I have a suspicion of what it is!

Car should be under warranty, so get them to check the code FOC.

Personally I would be taking it nice and easy until I find out exactly what the problem is... Probably nothing serious, but get it to the dealer asap to sort it under warranty!

Thanks for the advice gents. AJ this phone of yours is getting some press! sounds like Ziggy from Quantum Leap. (if anyone remember that)

Well the light was on again this morning. After having do go to a meeting (about fifty mile round trip - it was abit painful but unavoidable). Booked it in with Honda once i was back in the office. Then low on my way home..... you guessed it NO lights. hmmm does the S know that its friday the 13th!!!!

The codes will still be in the system, so Honda will be able to tell you what the error was.

It's good to know.
