Engine Lifespan MY99 - MY02
#71
Oh for god sake this thread is a load of panty waving for no real reason!
The S2000 is a sports car, with a sports engine. Its great to drive and you have to care for it as you would with any engine; sports or not. If you don't then it will have issues as will any other engine with any sort of miles on it. If you buy a second hand car then you will always have the possible "how was it cared for / driven issues" this is NOT unique to the S2000, it is a fact of buying a secondhand car. You do your research and you effectively take a chance, judged or otherwise. You may get it wrong or you may decide it is worth the punt - this is a matter for you and your circumstances.
If you do not want to take this chance then don't buy a second hand car.
if you want to buy a really nice well maintained 2002 example with low enough miles for a few years before the physcological 100k barrier that a local Honda dealer is happy to put a warranty on and resell, but for less money than said Honda dealer would charge you then hurry up and buy mine otherwise it will got to them on 31 August!

Well said LadyB - what a big bunch of puffs.
Look, I paid a couple of bag for a s/h lump & even with the service & everything else it was only another bag to fit. And TBF, I have a reputation as a slightly brisk driver.
It's a car with Porsche-like performance (before Porsche stopped being so cynical & complacent, anyway) and it costs commensurately.
The Honda JizzFat has a reputation for low running costs, solid residuals & practicality if it's too rich.
