Default Engine Life

My S has done 46k, still drives as new, often revved to red line. So the question is what can one expect the life of the engine to be?
Also has anybody in the Uk had any experiance of engine rebuilds just out of curiosity ?

P.S. I used to be on here as Chippo when i first had the car all those years ago

How long's a piece of string! (dont say twice the distance from the centre to one end)

If its well look after, well run in, regular oil changes and maintenance it will last way way over 100k miles.

Sometimes, shit happens and it might go pop - but you can win half the battle by looking after it.

So the old string theory Eh, I do not have any particular reason to believe my engine will give out, have drivn several cars to close to 200k in the past with no probs all allways driven them fairly hard as far as engine usage is concerned in other ways i am easy on mechs, as forinstance I am still on orig rear pads and only 2nd fronts ! tires have lasted approx 8-9k per set either OEM or Proxis, Proxis by far best all round performer i Think?

Mine lasted 126,189 miles before it threw a rod

PJL's 106,000

Both had been ragged a lot and used on track. (PJL's more than mine)

But there are others in the USA i believe with more on them.
