Jeez it could be loads of things.

Assuming the oil level remained okay then I'd be highly suspicious of the recent work that was carried out. Often before powder coating the cover gets sandblasted, if the sand remnants haven't been removed before fitting that could infiltrate your engine causing blockage/ damage etc.

Post up a video and we'll go from there

OK for starters "a bent piston" isn't something you can really get "a bent connecting rod" (aka con rod) that connects the piston to the crank is something you can get, but often only after you over-compress the engine, either by charge pressure but most commonly by water entering the engine. The most likely (if at all) is a spun bearing on the crankshaft - normally due to lack of oil. tbh before you panic after looking on the internet (I think I know the youtube vid you are talking about ) I'd get the noise properly diagnosed by a Honda specialist - it could be anything and it could be relatively cheap to fix

cheers guys for both your great responses!!!!! the oil level light came on and i checked it and filled it up to the top as you should!!! the light would then stay on or go off an flicker but not full brightness (like its a loose connection)
before i turned the engine off before i then started her back up and heard the noise!.... i had no problems sounds or anything!!!!!
when i had the rocker cover sandblasted they refitted it with a new seal..

also the noise seems to becoming from the back of the engine in the centre towars the firewall to the driver and passenger cell

when i was driving back from my dads (this is where i was when i started it up and heard the noise...its on 4 miles from my house) its didnt sound or feel down on power (not that i ragged it) just trying to diagnose the problem

any more ideas or anything would be great.... i got the car from christophger neil sports cars in northwich and it has a 12 month warrenty so going to speak with them tomorrow to get it sorted out!!!!... if it was you would you ring the garage i got the engine cover repowder coated first????

sorry for going on just never had anything like this before happen to me!!!! just to confirm it is naturally aspirated with nothing whats so ever done to it! it is stock and is an o4 ap2 plate and has 75k on the clock!!! looks and feels perfect!!!!!

cheers again for all the help

You should be checking the oil weekly rather than waiting for the "Sell it quick" light to come on.

How much oil did you have to put in it the oil light comes on way to late IMO.

You haven't got a oil level light it's a oil pressure light you say it came on, were you driving it at the time, if you were then more than likely you will have done some damage, don't keep starting the car and don't drive to the garage,to save further damage, get it uplifted

Hell of a first post but here goes!

If your getting the flickering oil light and a knocking from the back at the bottom then the worst case is it's bottom end or crank knock, this doesn't cause loss of power necessarily but will get worse eventually killing the engine.
Bare in mind that the oil light isn't low oil, it's low oil pressure which is why it will carry on flickering even when you've topped the oil up because the engine has lost oil pressure.
I'd be onto my warranty company a.s.a.p. and thanking my lucky stars I had it!

I had these exact same symptoms on my last EVO and that's what it turned out to be so I hope you have better luck!

The warranty company will wash their hands of it if "oil light" is mentioned I would think.
