Adjusting the valve clearances is perfectly possible to DIY but its fiddly and awkward. Bending the end of you feeler gauges over makes it a lot easier but the access is still awkward.

I'd let the dealer do it if i were you.

Valve clearance should be done on 27000 mile service (checked and adjusted) Probably should be done on later service intervals. (my service was

I find that dealers normally need to be reminded about checking the valve clearances on service

i think your right there, i let them know i was aware it was on the service, they gave me full details of the adjustments made
