I think a few have done there own valve clearance and i don't think it to difficult ,not sure if they have to be done in a particular sequence though, but for what it cost at dealers (can't be any more that an hours labour

Clearences are always done cold.
According to a few on here, they reccommend going a thou under minimum clearence.
Do I remember what they are? No, something like 9 thou and 11 thou, but best check

Also, a lot of people replace the TCT in the forlorn hope that a knackered timing chaing & sprockets will get better, which they won't.
They are a bit of a weakness on S200s. But less of a nightmare than on Citroen SMs.
