A very good preventative measure is to inspect and check the valves more regularly than Honda do.
An over rev can manifest as a dropped valve many miles/months later.

Hmm I shall get mine checked then. Even though I havent over rev'd. The car was used and I have no idea how the previous owner drove it so I will book it just to make sure.

I think it's better to spend a little and be safe than to spend alot and be sorry!

[QUOTE=lower,Apr 25 2007, 09:12 AM] On the contrary, i think i'm very lucky. The whole lot was covered by the extended warranty during the period that Warranty Holdings (the company that underwrote the honda extended warranty) had gone bust. Saved me

Would be interesting to know the history of the cars e.g. how many owners before it went bang?

Different driving styles can affect engine life.

When honda brought out the S2000, people thought ahhh high revving engine, that aint going to last that long. I dont think honda would wnat to tarnish there image, with a car that would do a small amount of miles and blow up.

Touch would mines okay, at times i think of selling, with a shadow of a doubt i will in 6-12 months time from now.

I dont know if i will get another s2000, thing is what i want in a convertible (lots of factors), the S2000 is hard to beat.

I might get a 2nd hand vx220 turbo and tune it, but dont know if i can live with vauxhall reliablity, ride and space in the vx220 turbo.
