The drivers says nothing when it happens though, all you hear is the engine noise.

If that happened to me, all you'd hear is me crying/swearing!

This vid brings back bad memories

My Built B16 made pretty much that exact same noise when piston 4 decided to make it's bid for freedom.
It totally destroyed the head and block. 3K down the swanny

Not enough info from the video to tell the cause.
Oil light comes on almost exactly the same time you hear horrible noises so my gut feeling would be the conrod's cut the main oil gallery as it's made a bid for freedom.

If I had to make a guess I'd say the dreaded #4 piston crack/break

I live in london... 30's and 40's.. the cars a road car not a race car... do ferrari drivers redline every gear? nope...

I drive like that when going for it! it goes to 9k rpm and was built to do so, so do it!!
as said if you change gear at 7k rpm just after VTEC your in the wrong car go buy an MR2 or MX5!! LOL
