Default Engine and engine bay cleaning.

Bit of a nobby question, sorry for that, but how should I go about engine and engine bay cleaning? Can I just give it a dousing in Jizer and a hose down, or is that a recipe for disaster? Is there anything I need to cover? Should I have the engine running etc?

Any advice great fully received.........

I love what he does with his little brush, clingfilm and being careful of his little sensitive areas.

GT85
metal polish
Soft painting brush
micronfibre cloths
tooth brush
Cotton buds

Not keen on water in the engine bay! Lots of time and patients.

I use autoglym engine cleaner, a spray bottle of water, and 303 aerospace on the plastics. It comes up really nice.

Be aware, if your rocker cover has never been repainted the paint will probably flake off in your hands!
