Almost cetrtain to be the black wire, common earth in the door somewhere.
The door wiring harness passes through into the car and plugs into a connector under the dash by the right knee, and there you'll also find an earthing post with many similar earth connections on it.
Get the auto blokey to check the earth connection between that earth post and the black wire in the door.
I suspect there is broken black earth wire somewhere in the door itself, probably where it connects to the door lock switch.
As also mentioned, they can get wet so it could be really badly corroded.
Its easy to find in person with a meter, just need to pop the door skin off so about an hours work all in I guess.
PM me an email addy if you want a drawing to give the nice man
HTH.
Needs an 'in person' really - hard to do over t'internet
