A 65bhp S2000 with extra weight? He said he only used it for commuting to work, so obviously not somebody who really cared about performance or fun in any way.
But pretty impressive work. If you read the blog he talks about having solar panels installed on his roof so he can charge the car for free.

I must have missed that I read the whole blog and saw the bit about the solar panels - that is a large installation. Wonder what the payback is on $30k odd

Assuming he travels to work and cruises with about 40kw he'll need 100 mins of charging for every minute he drives.
Realistically, he'd be better off installing some pedals.

I think the point with the solar panels is that he sells the energy back to the grid as an exporter and then when he needs it back overnight to charge, it is effectively free. But the initial outlay of the panels kind of defeats the point
