So the ECU bolts are triangular. Damn. Hang on, a triangle has three points (equally spaced in this case). Oooh, three is half of six! what has six points?

Thanks for being in a good mood then, I feel honoured.
I already read and thought about what other sockets might fit but I haven't got any imperial sized ones and to go and buy a bunch of them hoping they fit wasn't my first plan
So is that one the right size as well then or did you just pick one?

Ron, have you seen the bolt? they aren't completely triangular, the edges are very much rounded off from memory so I doubt that will work and you may end up further rounding off. Torx is better than a normal socket though. Using a stud extractor or the proper tool is the best bet.

Ron removed my oem ecu within a few minutes using this method. I was stood there watching in disbelief as to how easy it came out

One of the bolts has 3 sides protected by the Honda ECU so it ca nbe a pain getting any tool on it
