Default ecu options

what ecu do you guys recommend i don't want to spend silly money and will probably keep my eyes open for a second hand one.
i have a K&N intake buddyclub exhaust and decat and am looking for a manifold and from what i have read a mappable ecu is needed to make the most of the mods.
so what shall i look for, one i can lower the vtec as well?

cheers guys

Hondata K pro or AEM EMS are your cheapest options.

How much are you wanting to spend?

Remember that you'll need to pay for mapping.

You have a vafc2/neo at one spectrum and a fully mapable, ecu at the other with a few inbetween so probably ranges from £200-1500.

for basic mods on that age of car you might also find that one of the pre mapped ecu options works well, such as a J's Racing, Spoon or Mugen. These come up from time to time in the for sale section.

I will have for sale in a while a K-pro including all the items which must be replaced (brand new) before the S2000 K-Pro can be used but it's a not cheap option Hondata ECU.

This is a pretty vague thread! I'd have a search on ECUs then ask some specifics...

Its not as simple as black and white IMO, when it comes to cost.

Yes most aftermarkets have launch control, whether it be ignition timing control or better.
