I have EBC discs (not grooved) and yellowstuff pads from balance motorsport. They do have quite a lot of dust but i found them good for road and fade resistant on the track.

Since owning the 'S' I have gone from the original OEM discs and pads to firstly adding EBC Redstuff all round.
I didn't notice any particular improvement in braking but I did a couple of track days and didnt notice any fade whilst on track. Please note I am not a massively experienced track driver though. At this point I also added my custom built cylinder brace
The redstuff have lasted for approx 9 months - fast road driving, a couple of trackdays and a 3500 mile Euro hoon. App 10,000 miles.
Last month I fitted new discs all round (Cheapo Brakes international), new Redstuff pads all round and Stainless hoses all round with a good quality brake fluid.
All in app

I now have EBC redstuff pads on the front (thanks again Dembo!) with original discs. I find they give less initial "bite", until warmed up, at which point they are as good in feel as the original setup. The advantage is, however, that you can brake a little harder, they don't fade on track (at least not with me!), and in fact they are low dust pads so less wheel cleaning!

I've never used BI pads by the way. I had no problem with the OEM pads price. But OEM disk price is horrendous for the fronts.
