Well, my exhaust still hasn't turned up despite what it said on the website

With the weather nice at 6am this morning and meet impending, rear brace had to go on!


Ready to go on



Again car was jacked up and placed on axel stands. The brace consists of:

4 * 14mm bolts for structure
2 * 10mm bolts for some sort of splash plate

All bolts came off easily

Here is the old/new comparison shot



New one on - asymetrically tighten bolts

Job done

Again, fitment was perfect and it went straight on no problems - another 20 minute job start to finish

Will let you know after todays meet. Just cleaned my car and cut my finger cleaning the inside of the rear arches!

I'm hoping it will as the shape of the bar on a basic physical assessment is much more torsionally resistant than the angle iron originally on there.

Well, the brace does make a difference, quite a substantial one too - a lot less flex. Just a shame I really couldn't push it today.

Yeah, the jack is essential for lowered cars! Got to have the right tools

if that makes a difference and i don't doubt you this must be the simplest thing to make. get some 25mm box section and cut it to same size as the oem brace but the oem brace on top of the box and drill through both sides of the box then open one side up to get the bolts in (may have to change bolts to cap heads) alternatevly weld a plate to the oem brace effectively boxing in the u channel profile.
