Default Ebay A Brace

Some of you would have liked to believe that though wouldn't you! Fitment was perfect!

Having played with my knob, I thought i'd better actually do something to:

a) Capitalise on the nice weather
b) Keep myself busy to overcome my nightshift fatigue

So I thought i'd stick the front A brace on!

Car up on axel stands

See, told you it was clean underneath

Brace ready to go on

There are 4 * 17mm nuts and 1 * 12mm bolt to remove in order to fit this. It'll only go on one way too so no margin to feck up.

However, it wouldn't be me without some sort of problem. The bolt didn't have the length to capture the thread with the brace flange in the way. Cue Ron's big box of Honda nuts&bolts:

New left, old right

Just sprayed some wd40 on because I had no copper grease. Better than nothing though.

All fitted - took 20 mins start to finsh and all tools away

Left the rear brace until my exhaust arrives as it'll have to come off for that - so i'm not slacking too much!

If you buy a "quality" brace, they come with longer bolts supplied.

Well, i've just been for a 60 mile B road thrash.

Difference? Yes.
Big Difference? No.
Worthwhile mod? Yes.

The front end has less slack to it. It's not night and day, but you really can feel it respond better, especially when changing direction.

I've had these lower front braces on other Honda's - EG/EK/DC2 are a must for them. This does the same type of thing, but it's not as pronounced.

What it has done is made the rear feel softer (which is expected because the front feels stiffer so it must be working!). I think the rear bar will make a big difference

TBH that brace design isn't the best, you really want the Spoon X brace, there really was quite a difference with that one.

For the money though you can't complain

Yeah, I was looking at the X braces and there were conflicting opinions on over what was better.

As you say, the bang per buck is high and it made a difference
