DTC jump failed, car dont start up,Need help pleas
Hello guys,
I have posted it in the US forum, but since my car is a RHD, the wiring may be different to USDM, so I hope some talents on here could give me some help!
Have tried to jump the DTC to clear my ABS and EPS light today, but stupidly plugged the paperclip into the wrong wire and now cant start the car up.
My suspect is a blew fuse but i have no idea which fuse it is and dont know if I blew some other things.....
Please give me some help guys!
Many thanks!!
Update:
This is the two pins that i have shorted

Have you checked the fuses? ECU fuse would be the obvious one.
The two pins to connect to get the fault codes are at the other end (and I can never remember which), but that only works on a JDM anyway.

if im reading it right, you've shorted the wrong pins together: http://www.modifry.com/freebies/old/dtc/index.htm
as dembo, i thought it only worked on JDM models too. could be wrong. i'm guessing on a non JDM it just wont work rather than causing issues.
+1 for fuse, if im reading your post right. not sure where it is; either be fusebox under bonnet or under dash.

Hello Thanks for reply, i have checked the backup fuse under the dash but it seems to be ok, is there another fuse that related to the ECU/ECM othere than the back up fuse under the dash?
But the trick did work on USDM cars....so i think it would work on ours...

according to your profile, you are a yank
i have a JDM, so i dont know about the slower UKDM owners...
have you checked the manual; theres a diagram there (or a forum search should help; 'fusebox'). the fusebox under bonnet i think has a 30-45 amp fuse for the ECU. could be wrong though...
alternatively, grab a test light and go probing both sides of the fuse.
