Lots of potential quotes in this thread - better bookmark it for winter

I expect the 18" should exacerbate this effect, because the increased wheel offset will increase leverage forces on the bushes that allow RWS compliance.
Even managed to catch out Andy Walsh but only once!
As per the vortex thread if it goes it is the driver not the car!
Read the road and anticipate!

Maybe people just pushing past the limits?
Cars do not stuff themselves.
Picked mine up in July a few years back and it was pissing down. Terrified to drive it home having read the stories here.
Car was fine, drove below 4k rpm all the way (helped I was running her in) and no where near even 50% throttle.
Respect the car in the wet and there will be no drama.
Just because you've done a training day or two does not mean you can suddenly razz the nuts off her in the wet and defy the laws of physics.
Drive sensibly and bin her you will not!

At the risk of cursing myself I'll comment. As one of advancing years I grew up with 3 litre carpis, 260Zs, X19s and MGBs all of which in various states of suspension and tyre wear would these days be viewed as death traps, especially the Capri which would let go with little prompting in the wet.
I have pushed the car in the wet when bends, roundabouts were empty to try and find the car's limits. So far I haven't been brave/foolish enough to find them.
It's fun trying though
