Ok, imagine you are braking and ready to change down a gear. Your right foot has moved off the accel pedal and onto the brake. Your left foot has now pushed the clutch down. As you change down a gear, and are about ready to lift the clutch foot off, pivot your the ball of your right foot so you are still on the brake, but use your heel to blip the throttle just before you let the clutch all the way out. Your right foot ends up almost sideways on.

Makes for a very smooth change as you are helping matching the engine revs to that of the spinning gearbox.

Takes a fair bit of practice - and dont even think about trying it unless there is no body around!

Thanks, for a very good explanation sounds like quite a tricky technique to master

No, give it a try! Once you've cracked it, its quite rewarding. Just like re-learing clutch control!

What a load of bollocks indeed, its only a bloody S2000 for f**ks sake.

Start heel and toeing into your favorite roundabout and anyone listening
will think your a cock.

What do F1 and rally drivers do? And what does some old wheel-shuffling driving instructor do? End of.
