Default Driving Styles in the Wet

Just a little survey of wet-driving attitudes, as a fairly new owner I've been taking it very easy on the damp roads this week. As it's the first wet driving I've done in the S I think this is sensible.

How many of you do the same?

I drive v carefully in the wet as there is a lot of other traffic on the roads around here so I don't want to risk it.

Also lots of standing water today which I didn't fancy surfing across

Does depend on the general road surface/how windy the roads are as well though.

Egg under accelerator style is the only way to go I think.

Also I think if you drive carefully in the wet the bridgestones seem fine.

Two words "egg shell". With regard to Neil's comment, yes it's possible to drive the S02s in the wet weather OK (I have a bald set of S02s on my track day wheels which I've occasionally had to drive in the wet and the egg shell technique works well), but certainly more care is necessary than with the F1s.

I drive very carfully and have certainly been overtaken by some awful cars....my low point was probably a knackered Montego tdi estate which overtook me around a roundabout in Crawley one very soggy evening!!!

Petty similar, although with as smoother style as possible - no sudden steering or throttle inputs

I regularly go into VTEC in the wet, but in a far more controlled manner i.e. not on corners or with the wheel turned, and not on full throttle in 1st and 2nd gear. Gear changes are smoother as well to avoid wheel spin.

I find it quite good fun in the wet and my confidence has grown in the 23000 miles that I have driven in S. I used to be scared to drive the car in the rain, but now I am only worried about torrential rain and standing water - in these conditions I drive very carefully.
