Default Drivers Side Carpet

I apologise if this is a simple question but are other peoples cars like this. On the drivers side carpet my carpet on my 2002 S2000 dosnt look to be finished off corrcetly. on t eh beam on the floor it seems to have been cut but the passengers side seems ok. Is this ths same in all cars or has something been done to mine??

The cuts are made to install the anchor posts for the floor mats. Rather crude IMO

The two cuts on the drivers side over the beam are normal but annoying, the cuts are to allow the bracket for the OEM mats to be fitted.

The carpet on quite a few cars is a little loose on the drivers side as it is pulled up to allow the OEM Cat1 alarm to be fitted etc.

Plonk a set of Muz mats in there and you'll never worry again!

Are they supposed to come with these brackets installed? It's seems NOONE car is coming with them and you just see the slit. Am I missing something here?

My car is an import. It came with the "cut" carpet - with the two metal post things screwed in and with Honda mats.

I was suspicious of my car as the cut in the carpet made me wonder why it was there and I was pleased to find out why it was there

Muz mats will be ordered eventually but I am trying to save my pennies at the moment
