i have had similar problems with my car since i have had it , 6 years
first the passenger side failed, honda diagnosed fault door lock, did not cure it, then replaced door actuator and then worked, but a few years down the line it failed again and now you have to open it with a key
and within the last 3 days my drivers door will lock with fob bt not always open, pain in the ass
so could be an actuator again, or could be what shopman

Hi all,
I've got this exact problem at the moment
I'm planning to take the door cards off tomorrow and have a good old clean and lubricate.
If the actuator is gone, how much is this likely to cost me? Feeling pretty poor at the moment as just paid for new insurance, tax and rear brakes in the last month.
Grumpily,
Chris

£80 I was quoted by dealer just for the part, same figure again for labour. I bought a second hand one on here for £30 and about an hour ago I fitted it myself. It took about 30 mins but if I did it again it would take 10 mins only.

Thanks for the rapid and useful reply :-)
I'm hoping to just lubricate it all up but nice to know I won't have to shell out another few hundred to get this little annoyance fixed.
Cheers, chris

I had a similar problem after removing the door trim to replace speakers.
There is a bar which goes from the lock to the lock tab near the door release and it was rubbing on the inside of the door card.

Check the rods are in the guides and not bent.
It most certainly wont be an actuator IIRC the key lever pushes the actuator mechanically anyhow.
