Driver training please
folks, my young lady is treating me to a driver training day for my 30th birthday. I want one where I get some 1 on 1 tuition, get to use my own car and leave a better driver than I arrived.
Who should I use please? Your feedback on personal experiences would be appreciated.
I would prefer s/east or central but willing to travel further if advantageous.
Thanks
Nick

Check out www.carlimits.com (or .co.uk).
This is the site for the 1st lotus day at North Weald. I've been on this and it was beedin' brillant. Thoroughly recommended. Both excellent fun and a real learning experience.

The other option is an on-road day.
You won't go sideways (intentionally ) but it's a far more useful day's worth of activities if you use the car mainly on the road.
Not wanting to poo-poo the 1st Lotus or Don Palmer days (done a Don day myself), they're great fun and you'll learn a lot about car control. But if you want tuition you can use everyday then check out someone like Ride Drive.
One thing I think happens with the car control drving tuition is that unless practiced, a lot gets forgotten, and since it can't be practiced on the road, is less useful than on-road training unless you do, or intend to do a lot of track days.
