Default Driver Training

Riteo,

Had a mental day at cadwell yesterday, made moreso by that useful thing... tuition.

Managed to get the instructor who actually holds the lap record at Cadwell Park, a chap called Mike. Absolutely superb bloke and we hit it off with eachother immediately, with him really knowing where to pitch the learning.

By the end of our session together we were absolutely flying and I was gobsmacked at how much I had come on in only 20 minutes.

I got chatting to the other instructors during the day and one of the guys who is about to start racing GT3 in europe (either a F430 or a Gallardo !!!) pulled me to one side and said he would happily give me and my mate who I was there with a 1-2-1 day at the track local to him (Bedford, which is convieniently my usual haunt) for only

That's the question.

Compared to the others
How good is Graham as a driver?
How much experience does he have?
How good is he as a teacher?
How much cheaper is he?
How much do you think he can improve you?

If you can answer those questions - you will get your answer.

Glad you mentioned that JD....

Im on stock fluid, discs and pads... I was absolutely fine bar 1 panic moment when my pedal went to the floor.. but I had done about 6 or 7 laps...

The key I found was that after tuition I was braking less and for shorter periods of time... and in some cases not at all for some corners.. this obviously helps !

... As for your questions Gaspode

Compared to the others
How good is Graham as a driver? - he's 20, karting since he was 6 and seemed to be getting good feedback from the other people who had him
How much experience does he have? see above
How good is he as a teacher? ... pass?
How much cheaper is he? Significantly, about 300 quid a day less than the other guy, but...
How much do you think he can improve you? ... I think I have a lot to learn, and the way I see it I can get some good pointers to basically improve my confidence in pushing on and the basics and then spend more cash when it will give a bigger impact.
