Driver Training

Driver Training
Hi folks,
I have just recently bought my s2000 (53 plate) and not only is it the most powerful car I have driven but also the my first RWD. I have been taking it easy, but I know my driving style probably needs some tweaks (radical overhaul!) from FWD driving - especially in the wet! I also live in Scotland were it rains every bleedin' day near enough.
I am therefore considering some driver training for me and the missus. Has any one used any in Scotland? I know Knockhill run courses, but which course and are they any good? Is it worth travelling down to somewhere in England? What am I looking at

sorry for reviving another old thread, but i had a 'moment' yesterday and thought this might be a good idea.
The suggestions above seem to be all down south, any one got any experiance of courses nearer the edinburgh area?
not sure if

is more of a 'fun' activity that doing any real training

There are skid-pans all over the place (Knockhill have one), but it would be more helpful to do one in your own car - which these don't.
Knockhill used to do an "on-road performance car course" for half a day which I did 5-6 years ago, but they have not offered it for a few years now. That was mostly advanced road driving, but was flexible and included 20 minutes in the paddock provoking the back end and learning what to do to correct it.
One of the jocks had quite a bit of advanced training from an ex polis instructor who worked part-time at Knockhill, but he may have retired by now.
I have certainly never come across any local advanced training providers in Scotland like those down south which is a shame as my course was of huge benefit.

I think Knockhill may have just renamed the course you did Euan.

cheers lads, that one at knockhill looks like it would do the trick.
Wonder why there is no trainers up this end though, as you think there would be more call for it, with our weather conditions.
Still in saying that it seems all the snow recently has stayed away.

Good to see them doing it again though
Let us know how you get on if you decide to do it Pasquale.

No Iain, that's a new course - there wasn't anything like the one I did for years.
Good to see them doing it again though
