I have seen a few car clubs using Smeatharpe airfield up on the blackdown hills, not sure how effective it is in circuit style driving, but plenty of run off area

There are two good ones i've heard of:

http://www.plansmotorsport.com/training/
http://www.carlimits.com/

I'm going on the plans training day because my wife bought me a session with them. 3 hours one on one training as i understand. I'm travelling from Leeds so i made sure i picked the right course for me. Should be going on it as soon as i get the S2K...

Two others to consider:

http://www.donpalmer.co.uk/

A friend of mine recommended Don, but I don't have any personal experience.

and

http://www.motorsportvision.co.uk/trackday...it=all&type=Car

Look for the Advanced Track Driving course (July 11th at Snetterton)

There was a post on here recently with someone describing their experience on one of these days but I can't immediately find the link for it. I think the result was generally positive.
[EDIT: Found it = https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=490443]

The plans motor sport (mentioned above) is on the Top Gear test track, you are the Stig!

Graham, did you want performance training or or you talking about advanced driver (road based) as many companies offer to staff who drive company cars?
Im in Somerset and fancy some circuit stuff as a beginner. Smeathorpe is very close to me in Taunton. If you see anything that takes your eye, why not drop me a PM, it could be a laugh
