Weirdly, my passenger door is well and truly rippled but the drivers door is un-blemished (quickly touches everything made of wood in the room).

My doors haven't seen any action fortunately. But my poor rear bumper is being beaten up. I found new scratches on it this morning That's the fourth time! I sadly have to park my S on the street so that's what I get really. Saving up for either a respray or aftermarket bumper once I have a driveway or garage.

(I too park at the furthest corner of the car park at the supermarket)

Never parked my car in any danger - ususally drive out the garage and back in after a jaunt.

That's not so weird - if you park in the same direction as the car to your left, then the driver is going to get out. As 80% of the cars on the road - probably 99% in a workplace carpark - have only a driver in them, it's very rare that a passenger door will be opened towards your car.

My tip - never park next to a car that has - or looks like it may have - children in it.

i usually park next to the most expensive car i can find in a car park-usually a new Audi or Range Rover. My theory is they won't want to hit a car with their door as much as I don't want o be hit. Its worked so far.

Only dent I've picked up on a nice car in the last seven years or so was at a dealers

Got a couple of scuffs but fortunately they all polished out

I'm careful where I park but not obsessive

I don't mind walking for 10 minutes if it means a safer spot - a lot of people seem to want to park right next to their destination

I avoid 4x4s - lots of occupants are lard arses so need to get the doors fully open

Ditto anything with evidence of kids

Funnily enough, things like stone chips don't bother me at all, but dents irritate

Must be because I know they are the result of carelessness/malice

On cars where I don't take care I've found all sorts of damage - from scratches and dings right through to hit and runs requiring panel replacement
