Does this suspension rust look normal or bad (or both haha)?

As said the removable suspension components look fine, all cars look like this, its just surface rust. The sills & arches are the concern, and the shot of the sill looks great.
This doesn't mean your alignment bolts haven't seized, this all depends on if they were lubricated and when the alignment was last done. You are looking at £1000+ to get this rectified.

depends how handy you are tbh.. i have replaced various bits and you need a reciprocal saw and patience
my 2001 was fine when i last had alignment, probably 5 years ago. i also have a 99 car which is very tidy underneath and that is all free but has something bent at the rear so wont get into spec perfectly

I've found an excellent tutorial on Youtube on how to do it and yes it doesn't seem that complicated, just a bit laborious and with near-infinite scope for buggering about with sundry minor rounded-off bolt heads and skinned knuckles. No the sort of job I'd be able to tackle in a tight single garage, even if I wanted to. Which I don't
