Does insurance drop when turning 25?

seems to be a myth what with insurance premiums being hiked at any given chance. I'm hoping that next January things will be slightly more affordable. People used to say it would reduce when you reach 21, then 25, then 30. Or is this just a sucker punch to keep you with the same insurer?

Notice you've not added your details to the Insurance Comparison Sheet
Why not go along check what others are paying and send your details.
The list is informative and getting bigger, the more the better.
Anyone else here not done so, please update your details and make the comparison.
Thanks

I turned 26 this year and had a sizeable drop in my premium. My no claims went from 6 to 7 years, I stayed with the same insurer and I haven't moved house. But my premium remains relatively high thanks to the spate of joy riders we had in the 90s.

The answer to this is simple. As you progress through your 20's and your career improves, you should be able to afford better and more powerful cars in higher insurance bands. So the chances of lowering your premium diminish.

Frankly, you are more likely to see Elvis reading the news at six.
I'm at an age where cynicism is normal but in all honesty and despite professions such as insurance and banking and building societies, all trying to cloak themselves in an image of probity and professionalism, the fact is they are the biggest twisters around.
I doubt any insurance company would give you the drops off the end of their noses on a cold day!
