A girl who works for me has just bought a JDM Mitsy FTO (with Veilside kit ) but it as it sits idling it has a wonderful burble.

Not that I can recall. It isn't tuned with low frequencies in mind unfortunately - more throaty and raspy.

at tick over it is no louder than stock one warm.....

I think it's tuned to scream...gives an 'f1esque' type sound once in VTEC

for a car with 250hp..the idle noise of the Honda is pretty pathetic, even though the FTO has same capacity..the 2 extra cylinders will help on the noise front.

Maybe it has uprated cams? This normally results in a burble at tickover.

I suspect it has uprated everything judging by the look of it..it has a drainpipe exhaust but sounds excellent at tickover.

If you want a burble, you should buy a Scooby or other Boxer engined car IMO

No thanks.

I'll keep what I've got..just want it to sound how it looks.

Benn thinking about buying an old Scooby as a beater though.

Hey, she might have the burble at tick over but you can feel better in the knowledge that that model of FTO doesnt have the Vtec/Mivec. And at the end of the day, seeing as a car is for driving, when is the sound more important? At 900rpm or 9000!!
