Does anyone know the name of these
Anyone idea what these items are called basically...
You have what looks like a a straight through electrical crimp with a see through bit in the middle (with solder stuff in), you insert each side of a wire and hold cigarette lighter in the middle, in then melts and solders the two wires together.

B&Q or maybe Halfords will sell such things.
I prefer to mechanically connect the wires (entwine) then solder and wrap with electrical tape.

Me three.
But I was recently informed that solder & high-vibration areas don't mix, so that's why crimp connectors are preferred.
Not those nasty, dangerous pre-insulated ones that the accessory shops sell; the proper ones.

how many soldered connections do you think are in a car? ecus, relays, head units, etc etc etc. i know some of the older hondas had issues with the main relay - resolder the points and everything is good again, but that was early 90's models.
