I'll probably have the hard top on most of the time, if they did a coupe i'd buy that. loved the car on the test drive though.
Good man

Regarding your insistence on VSA, be aware that there is a known problem with Honda VSA modules failing. Replacement cost is over a grand.

This is on loads of different models, not just the S2000.

I would see how you get on without then fit a Racelogic if you decide you need TC ~ £500.

If you can wait a few weeks, we're getting into the silly season for depreciation, and the end Nov/Dec is a fantastic time to bag an S2000 bargain from a private seller.

VSA only works when the engine's switched on Hun, maybe that explains it

Miles, please excuse that in your thread, I couldn't resist it

If a late model car is what you're after, why not have a look at this one https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=827991 it's only six months older than the one you looked at, and, as others have said here, get some Racelogic TC fitted with the (considerable) saving you'd be making?

I have an 02 car and that obviously has not VSA. It's a great car in the dry, as others have said, you have to really provoke it to make it do anything other than stick to the road. In wet/greasy conditions, it requires a little more concentration/respect; usually avoiding VTEC and only accelerating when all the wheels are pointing in the same direction will see you right

Don't excuse him - he deserves a slap!

Admittedly in the rain yesterday I left it on but that car gets driven every day (mostly)!

Goddammit!

What he say.

Go do some Karting & a few track days.

And stay away from S2000f.uk.you. for pity's sake.

BTW; the number in Honda codes invariably relates to the engine option; we don't get the 2 variant, wich was the F22c.

Thanks everyboby. I'm starting to wonder about VSA now, it's just everything I read up until I started this thread said GET VSA!!!
I know all about s20004u but was hoping there can't be too much wrong with an 07 with 11k on the clock, plus i'll get the aa to do a full car check on it ( if they'll let me ) .

Why pay dealer prices for a car that has all the come back of a private sale.

There's a 55 plate with hardtop on here for £9995 at the moment. That's got to be worth a look.

@milesshardy

if you want the low down on S2000-4-u then feel free to drop me a PM, my experience was NOT good but then another member of my family who unbeknown to me had bought from them (albiet over 3 years ago) feels they were ok. I'd be inclined to find a car on here though mate, that way you know the seller knows wtf they are talking about and the chances are you will get a mint car.

As for the VSA....why bother, a pure rear wheel drive sports car is meant to be driven (and respected) as such...why dumb it down?! Hit a skid pan course or hire an mx5 for the weekend if your are unsure! In all honesty though, if you are a competent driver and aware of your conditions you will be fine!

Good luck!

Thanks guys for all the help. As I said I have read the countless negative posts on s20004u which is why it's so annoying that they now have my perfect car for sale. I want an 06 onwards gt model with hard top and VSA in black....possibly moonrock....maybe even red. Less than 40,000 on the clock and I want to pay no more than £14,000.....and no tan leather!
VSA doesn't have a colour - its transparent . Hope you find what you are looking for...
