dodgy battery or something else?
woohoo! I've had my s2k for just over a week, and it was running sweet for the first few days ... but over the past couple of days it seems to have developed an electrical problem.
Noticed on Friday morning, it wouldn't start... battery was flat & needed a jump start. Took it to Honda who couldn't find anything obviously wrong ... To be fair, I did manage to get into work and start it up again some 7 hours later in order to get home.
(FYI, the battery was measuring 14.8v when idle, and there was a 50mA drain when off)
Fast forward to today... it needed another jump start, and after ~20 minutes driving, I parked up. As a sanity check, I started up the engine again to make sure the battery was charged... no problems there. 30 minutes later, it was flat again!
What do you reckon guys? Are there any common problems I ought to be aware of?
Cheers.

I'm more astonished that Honda couldn't diagnose this.
It's easy, with a multimeter, to check for anything draining battery, to see if it's charging ok and also if it's losing charge.
It may be charging up ok but not holding charge.
Anyway:
a) battery not holding charge - duff battery.
b) battery not being charged or not charging at all - something related to alternator, dodgy connections etc.
c) battery is being drained - something left on, typically a light or alarm taking too much power.
If Honda can't figure it out (or at least identify if a,b or c above), sounds like they need new staff.
Also remember, each time a battery loses all it's power, the less able it is subsequently able to keep a charge for any length of time.

Thanks for the responses ppl...much appreciated.
This was actually the first thing I checked after coming across a couple of posts on here. Unfortunately this wasn't it
I did briefly consider disconnecting the battery entirely when fully charged so I'd know one way or another if it was a duff battery, but something in the back of my mind remembered reading about there being some sort of alarm reset sequence so I thought I'd better leave it.
I'm going to try and get it looked at again tomorrow. I'll keep you posted.
Boot light stuck on maybe?

Could be a duff alternator.
They surely will be able to diagnose this. Give it to them, and say you don't want it back until it's fixed. Use that warranty
