Default Do you swap your front tyres?

I'm sure this has been dealt with before but I couldn't be ar$ed to find the thread(s) plus I wanted to be sure any advice was current.

Put new Potenza S02s (yup, the correct ones) on the front today. The car had been understeering appreciably and I noticed that the tread was down to the wear indicators but on the insides only.

Obviously too late in my case to swap them over, but should I do it, at say 3000+ miles, with the new set? The camber on the fronts means the insides wear more quickly, but is swapping them round a good idea or not?

I haven't done it before, but if there is a favourable response, then I think I will when i next get some new rubber on the front.

I swapped mine over with about 15000 on the fronts and probably about 2mils left in the inside and closer to 5mils on the outside. I thought I would only get a couple of thousand extra miles out of them. I'm now sitting at 22000 and about to get them changed. By the way there has been no appreciable additional wear on the (new) outside of the tyres and wear is down to 2mils across the central 75% of the tyre. No handling problems either. So I manage to get say an extra 40% of wear for the

No major problems (I've done it twice now). The car will tramline a bit more on longitudinally rutted roads, but otherwise OK. Doesn't seem to affect steering or braking much at all IME.

I would do, but as my Eagle rears will be worn out in a few thousand miles and I'll have to change to something else all round, I don't think I'll bother

Not sure.

I checked my rears the other day and there's still loads of tread on them, even after 10k miles. Must be driving like a girl

I'd already ordered them from Kwik Fit when I remembered your Jim Dickson tip. Sorry about that, but I'll try him next time. Only paid
