Mine got replaced earlier this week with roughly the same corrosion. Get to the dealer, it should be worth youe while.

On the subject of wheels my fronts tyres are sp kojack on the inside edges (the ones you can't see until full lock) but there is still legal tread (just) on the outside edges. Is this pattern of wear normal or does it suggest alignments are out. I hate to put new boots on and have the tyres ripped to shreds within weeks!
Yup, normal, try and get your tyres swapped over next time to even out the wear.

Send them in
The pictures I assume? To who, honda uk? Should I try and bypass the dealers and seek authorisation directly from Honda UK before pitching up and saying 'Honda UK say these should be replaced'?

Hmmm, the MY04 17s are nice - wonder how much the upgrade would cost? Aren't they a lot heavier than the 16s though? I plan to go to 17s one day but always intended to get lightweight alloys that are lighter than the 16s in a bid to not affect acceleration negatively at all.

I'd go to the dealer first, armed with the knowledge you have a valid claim. Set timescales (as you don't have long before warranty expires) and go to HUK if they kick up.

Mine were corroded about that amount (all 4) and there is a new set waiting - they are now 100 times worse, and went that way within about 4 weeks
