It's my parents and they don't need it now as my mum's retired. It's mostly single and dual carriageway a road and sitting in traffic. i think the Ka will probably be quite suited, need to replace the stereo though.

IIRC, Bassoctopus was happy with an Accord coupe on the same basis.
The Accord coupes are a real bargain and built like a tank. Mine ran for ages with no oil in the auto box due to a loose sump (God knows how long the last owner had it like that). It also had a suspected headgasket/water leak problem but didn't miss a beat. It was a fantastic cruiser too - nice comfy leather armchair, autobox, cruise control, a/c.

not everyone can adapt to driving around in a crap car a lot of the time

there has to be more in it than cost - hence my former preference for big estates

at least they are very comfortable and offers loads of carrying capacity

I wouldn't want to drive around in a Ka even if it was free - unless it was for very occasional short trips to the shops

but if you really are impervious/oblivious to it, then why not

Whores for intercourse, or however the cliche goes.

The Kas are great fun to punt around in, IIRC & certainly more fun than a Jazz.

But then, I dislke wallowy, cumbersome cars, which many bigger ones tend to be. Unless RWD of course.

Maybe for D-Cs & M-ways, it's less of an issue.

they are also as gay as MINIs

like I said, if you can get driving pleasure from a Ka, good on you

there are a million other beaters I would have over one though

and only Chilled can decide

I'm with gaddafi on this. 300 miles a week commuting in a Ka isn't my idea of easing the pain of commuting. Neil's Accord sounds more the job to me, although like gaddafi, my 600 mile a week beater is an estate - practical as well as comfy.

Nah, they're quite androgenous since they did the convertible version;

Mini/Ka/Beetle convertibles - they're all as gay as Mark Almond in a dogging daisy chain.

running a beater can give you the chance to scratch an itch

so drive a car you would once have lusted after - say six litres of Daimler V12, Pug 205 GTi, Prelude 2.2 vtec, Celica GT4 etc

this is not the same as thinking you should experience what it's like to have scabies

which is where cars like the Ka come in

or diesels

you would only have one if compelled to do so
