The Meth kit is a double bonus, you get a boost in power(it increases the octane rating so can be mapped in) and it reduces the intake charge temp, which will also give a power boost.the down side is it's very corrosive.

I will have mine mapped in but only at very high boost settings, to aid intake cooling.

I know Loyde Kawasakivtec runs quite a lot of it, it may be worth speaking to him.

I also know some of the yanks depend on it a little too much to get big power out of there Evo's which can lead to some spectacular failures.

You need a full 3" system IMO.

If its loud then there are solutions to quieten it.

Other solutions are just band aid IMO, and the more complexity you add them more room you have for issues to creep in.

I love the noise of the kit as it is now,Can t fault it , if there was an option to quieten Dixons 3inch system i think he would have given Me an option , it think even for track it would have been too loud to use dixons on there ,had a nice run back from aberdare yesterday 70miles blew a type r guy away ,oh an also when we where road testing yesterday with ANT from indigo Gt racing we where on a bypass Me driving ant with the laptop in hand, foot down up to 120 only to pass while braking heavely as police car was in the layby ,heart was in my mouth

Have you not try the Bung I sent you for my system? It should quiet down a lot with the bung on.

Or try and insulate it somehow, or sound deadening in the boot etc.

Greg, can you try and use full stops in your posts as I am really struggling to read what you are saying. Cheers.

Dixon. If i use the bung s are we just restricting the exhaust as much as the H.K.S. System .MB. How would you go about insulating it.How do car s like the G.T.R.do it then .They run big bhp and sound fine........

Not sure if this has ever been done, but you could wrap at least the manifold, and insulate the car with some sound deadening. Wrapping the rest of the exhaust is an option, but it's likely to cause corrosion. It may be that Dixon can weld another resonator onto the exahaust?

I have a very quiet 3" single for sale, but not sure what it will sound like with a SC attached to it!

The gtr has 4 cats and 3 silencers and two turbo chargers. Opposed to your3 silencers and maybe one cat. As far as I understand the thinner the metal in the manifold the more valve noise you get. The thinner the exhaust pipe metal the more resonance you get and that leaves the silencers to work harder.

To make an exhaust quiet it requires thick walled exhaust pipe with large efficient silencers and a resonator like the standard exhaust to remove resonance. That results in a heavy exhaust.

I'm using a slightly misshapened ASM type S 70mm single exhaust! it has little to no drone but definitely saps a little power and weighs a lot over the previous j's racing 70 Ti I had before.

MB I've wrapped my manifold and decat it made little to no difference to the sound. My boot is sound deadened but could do with more and a parcel shelf.
